What is 2D CAD?

Example of a City & Guilds 2D drawing

Two dimensional Computer Aided Design is an ideal way for the design engineer/product developer to communicate the physical realities of a product to the the manufacturer using an explicit language understood by both parties.

By following standards as laid out by authorities such as British Standards and ISO Standards information that would take a long time to be communicated orally, with the possibility of errors occurring, can be translated accurately from one person to another, across the world if required, in one or more drawings without a word being spoken.

There are normally two types of drawing employed:-

  • Part drawings - for individual components and
  • Assembly drawings - depicting how parts fit together to make a final product.

  • Other drawings may be required depending upon the specific application of the final product. At this point in time we are only able to offer mechanical engineering services and not electrical engineering.

Changing Visions can take your conceptual ideas and transform them into finished drawings ready for the product to be manufactured. Maintaining a constant dialogue with you, the customer, we can ensure that you receive exactly the product you desire.

Changing Visions can also assist you in locating a manufacturer capable of producing the finished product, reducing the struggle of making contacts, should you wish us to.
